There are no shortages of attractive and exciting places in Boston for the tourists. Beacon Hill is just that perfect place you will want to visit for relaxation. Nestled close to Back Bay, Beacon Hill is the residence of more than 26,000 people. It is one of the most craved for and expensive Historic neighborhood of Boston.
It seems that the time has stopped here because of the gas lit streets and Georgian Style Row houses. The neighboring areas of Beacon Hill include Boston Common, Public Gardens, Beacon and Somerset Street, Storrow Drive and Charles River Esplanade. The hill has got an advanced landfill ground known as the Flat Hill. Massachusetts State House is located on the top of the hill, which is a hot tourist destination.
The Beacon Hill is named after a popular location of a beacon upon the highest point of Central Boston. The hill had two more subsequent hills which were curved out for housing developments. As far as the legal owner is concerned, Boston Hill was initially owned by William Blaxton, the first European settler in Boston. He went on to see the hill to the Puritans.
The Hill is home to many favorite tourist destinations like Unitarian Universalist Association, Louisburg Square, Mt Veron Street- considered to be the finest address in entire America and many more. There are countless Nobel men who have stayed atop the hill. Some of the other famous attractions include Suffolk University, Museum of African NAD American History, Nicholas House Museum, The Francis Parkman House and lots more.
