The south station bus terminal is located in the main South Station Boston which is a major intermodal transportation hub. The bus terminal though is found in a separate building on Atlantic Avenue. This building is constructed over train platforms and its purpose is to ensure that several bus companies and destination are served.

You need to pay for your ticket 15 to 30 minutes before the set departure time. However, reservations are not necessarily made. The acceptable modes of payment are cash, MasterCard and visa.
