Prudential Tower Boston

Lying in the heart of the Prudential Center complex is the Prudential Tower Boston, an ideal options for Boston travel. The center has many high rise buildings that actually became controversial since the time that it was created.

The Prudential Tower is its centerpiece and had finished construction in 1965 with 52 stories in total and it became the tallest building not just in Massachusetts but of the world, excluding New York City. It was much taller than the former John Hancock tower but this form of rivalry prompted the insurance company to build another John Hancock Tower that will strip off the Prudential Tower Boston with its title.

In 1975, the construction of John Hancock Tower was completed and it was taller than the tower by just 11.6 meters. Not much really but it was enough for them to get the title. With the competition for becoming the tallest building in the world became fierce, the tower can not even compare to the tallest buildings today but in Boston it's still the second tallest.

The 4000-windowed Prudential Tower Boston has about 1/2 million square feet of space used for offices. When you reach the top, on its 52nd floor you can enjoy dining at the Top of the Hub Restaurant. It's like dining in the sky!

If you want to have a view of the city, at the 50th floor they have the Prudential Skywalk. It is one of Boston's most popular tourist attractions. You get to see the entire city with a 360′ view!

A fun fact about the Prudential Tower Boston: Since Boston, like any other cities, is such a big fan of baseball. They have the Boston Red Sox and during the playoffs for the Major League Baseball, the tenants agree to either turn on or off their lights so they could spell out the words "GO SOX" which is widely visible at the Fenway Park during the game.

They did this in 1999, 2003, in 2004 as well as in 2007. This is their own way of showing their support to their baseball team and it definitely is effective in uplifting the morale of the players. The people of Boston sure are supportive.

The Prudential Tower Boston also serves FM stations with their master antennas mounted on its rooftop. The first mounted antenna serves 4 FM stations namely WZLX, WMJX, WBCN and WXKS. The other one serves 3 stations namely WBOX, WTKK and WROR.
