The Exhibit Halls of MOS house exhibits in topic from human biology to the latest high-tech inventions. From Saturday to Thursday, the regular hours (through July 4) are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm while the summer hours are 9:00 am - 7:00 pm. On Friday it's open 9:00 am - 9:00 pm.

Please note the special hours of Exhibit Halls:

The Museum of Science Boston has a number of exhibits, live presentations throughout the building everyday, along with shows at the Mugar Omni Theater, the Butterfly Garden and other sub-venues. Before your wonderful time there, knowing the hours of these sub-venues is important.

Equipped with a five-story-tall IMAX Dome Screen, the Mugar Omni Theater is the only domed IMXS theater in New England. Audiences can expect larger-than-life images of flora, fauna and faraway places and state-of-the-art digital sound.

The theater will be closed on Monday, February 7 and Tuesday, February 8 for maintenance in 2011.

Located in the Museum's Exhibit Halls, the Butterfly Garden gives visitors an indelible experience with the fluttering flight of butterflies and the scent of flower blossoms.

It's open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Friday. For other days of a week, you can visit it from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Please realize that it has two closing times for maintenance - Monday, June 27 to Tuesday, June 28 and Tuesday, September 6 - Thursday, September 8.

The Educator Resource Center (ERC) in the Lyman Library is located at Green Wing, Level 3. It's part of the Museum's goal to improve STEM literacy in grades K - 12.

Educators are welcomed to take advantage of this open space for resource review and professional development. And the fantastic view of the Charles River will be a bonus when you're tired during works there.

Its operation hour is 3:00 - 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday. For Saturdays from October 1 to Memorial Day, it's open from 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon.

The Discovery Center is a safe and enclosed play area for children from birth to eight years old. With tunnels, puzzles, and interactive light stick design corner and puppets, children can have an assortment of fun, hands-on activities.

In a week, it's open 10 am - 4:45 pm except Friday. The operation hours delay to 7:30 on Friday. And the hours will be extended during the summer and school vacation weeks. The center will be closed from Monday, September 26 to Friday, September 30 for yearly maintenance.
