Gibson House was built by Charles Hammond Gibson in 1859. After that three generations lived in that house and preserved the belongings, furniture, wallpapers, paintings, sculptures, photographs etc. This became a museum and was officially opened for public in 1957. Kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, butler's pantry, scullery all are preserved since three centuries. It has blocked the time from late 18th century to early 20th century by preserving the aura. It started from Gibson, Hammond, Russell, warren and crowneinsheild families.
The Musuem usually opens all the year round except some of the days those are Thanksgiving Day, New Year's Day, Christmas and Fourth of July. Reservations are not compulsory you can just go and enjoy the Victorian era. People can go only from ground to third floor rest of the two floors are for staff and storage.
