The Gibson House was designed by Boston architect Edward Clarke Cabot. It was built around the same time as its sister at 135 Beacon Street during 1859-60. Located in the south side of the Beacon Street these houses stood along for almost ten years by itself. When you come down to the museum you will be shown around the place only by a guided tour. The Gibson House Museum is spread across four floors of the building. You have to book from beforehand if your group has more than 12 people. The museum remains closed on New Year, 4th of July, Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day.
