How Boston got its name
The city of Boston was founded way back in 1630 by the wandering colonist, who drifted away from their landing point at Salem. They named the city as Trimountaine. But John Winthrop, who was the first Governor, and his deputy Thomas Dudley, made a suggestion that the city be names after Boston, their hometown, in England.
