Bunker Hill Monument Parking and Other Information

When being in Charlestown, Boston, you will see a 221-feet giant obelisk standing there as a landmark, visible even from miles away. It is Bunker Hill Monument, which commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill, the first conflict between British and Patriot forces in the Revolutionary War on June 17, 1775, and honors the heroes who died in the battle.

Although called as Bunker Hill Monument, it is not located on Bunker Hill but Breed's Hill. The cost is free and Monument opening hours are 9 am - 4:30 pm daily, while the exhibit lodge opens daily, 9 am to 5 pm.

When approaching the Monument, you can see the statue of Colonel William Prescott in front, one of the most famous heroes at the Battle of Bunker Hill. As for the exterior, there is no elevator inside and its 294 steps is really a challenge. Just as a tourist has put it, steps 1-100 is a warm up, steps 101-200 burns the fat cells in the thighs, and the last 201-294 steps will get you dizzy. Or maybe 294 steps is nothing to you.

For those who drive to the Bunker Hill Monument, some info about parking is necessary.
