Neighborhood & Beyond

Boston is the city of neighborhood. The city share's neighborhood with twenty-one neighbors. Boston neighborhoods is overlapped by a number of cities and districts. Certain districts have a well defined boundaries that they share with Boston for larger areas. Boston provides a good source of its well defined boundaries for some of the largest areas.

The city is a financial district housing government center and town hall. It also homes many of the local politicians, authors and business leaders. South end is a back bay for many merchants and seamen while the North end retains its Italian flavor. The North hosts religious and cultural festivals and the East reflects Irish enclave.

Boston is distinguished by its neighborhood. All of it's neighborhood reflects its changing face. With new immigrants joining in, the Boston neighborhoods has transplanted into a modern world class city of today. Due to its early foundling, Boston is very much compact.

Being the country's fourth most populated city, Boston lies in the larger cities of metropolitan. With highest point being Bellevue Hill above the sea level, the lowest point is at the sea level. It is surrounded by cities and towns of Canton, Qunicy, Cambridge, Watertown and others.

Much of its Back Bay and South End area are built on the reclaimed land, with the smallest hill being intact with only half of its height cut down to land fill. Downtown area of Boston neighborhoods is surrounded by building in Federal style mixing with most of the high rise buildings including prominent landmark. Smaller commercial areas interspersed with multi-family row houses. Incorporate green spaces and open areas gave way to downtown area.

Most of the Boston is located near Federal district and Beacon hill founding the oldest public park. Adjacent is the string of parks encircling the city. It forms the city's largest park in the Boston neighborhoods. Other parks are located along the banks of Charles River or scattered throughout the city.

The river separates the main Boston from Cambridge, watertown and its neighborhood. Neponset River forms it boundaries to the Southern part and Milton town.
