
Boston City Hall Parking and Other Information
As the seat of the municipal government of Boston, Boston City Hall is the great brutalist architecture. The design of the building once received an award in a 1962 national competition. This controversial landmark building is a dominant part of the Government Center complex.
Where is the City Hall located? Boston City Hall is located in the Government Center in the heart of downtown Boston. You can get access to the third floor entrance of the Hall from City Hall Plaza at Government Center. The first floor entrance of the building from Congress Street near Faneuil Street is also accessible.
Is there any public transportation available to the City Hall? Yes. You can get to the Boston City Hall via MBTA. MBTA Green Line makes a stop at the Government Center station. Blue Line makes a stop at the Government Center station or State Street station. And orange Line makes a stop at the State Street station. If you take the Red Line, you can get off at the Park Street Station and then transfer the Green Line to the City Hall. The 92 and 93 buses also have a stop near City Hall on the Congress Street.

If you intend to drive to the Boston City Hall, you might need to learn about the parking information to benefit your visit. In fact, there is no public parking in the City Hall itself. However, you don't need to worry about the parking problem. Parking facilities are available in the vicinity.
Government Center Garage: Located at 50 New Sudbury Street, the Government Center garage provides business professionals, students, local residents and tourists with convenient parking facilities. However, its parking rates may be a bit high. Its daily parking rates start at $6 for less than 20 minutes, $29 for less than 1 hour and 40 minutes. The maximum daily rates are $35. On Saturdays and Sundays, the parking rates are $10 for all day. If you enter after 5pm and exit before 5am from Monday to Friday, you will be charged $10.

MTA Parcel 7 Garage: For short-term parking, an economical option is the MTA Parcel 7 Garage. It is located at 136 Blackstone Street with a maximum daily fee of $28. The parking rates are just $1 for 1 to 2 hours parking and $3 for up to 3 hours parking. For more information, call 617-973-6954.
Another discount parking option is Central Parking System. It provides a parking lot at Center Plaza at City Hall. This is an indoor garage, open 24 hours a day. The rates start at $6 for 1/2 hour, with a maximum daily fee of $35. Weekend rates are $10 all day. If you print its coupons, you can get discount rates.
