A Tribute to the Patriotic-Take a Tour to Bunker Hill Monument

The Bunker Hill Monument was built to honor the history of Bunker Hill. The granite obelisk was built between 1827 and 1843 in Charlestown. Record supports that the granite of this monument was collected from Quincy, Massachusetts. The monument has 294 steps to the top.

The Bunker Hill Monument is not exactly on the Bunker Hill. It is built on Breed's Hill. This is the actual place where the Battle of Bunker Hill took place.

The ground and monument was maintained by The Bunker Hill Monument Association till 1919 and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts undertook it. In 1976, The Bunker Hill Monument was converted into National Park Service and became a unit of Boston national Historical Park.
